Rosacea is a red facial rash usually of unknown cause. It usually appears on the nose, forehead, cheeks and chin and forms red lumps and sometimes pustules. Rosacea is often accompanied by severe flushing and broken capillaries. Rosacea is equally common in men and women and usually presents from ages 30 years and above. It may be transient, recurrent or permanent. It is usually responsive to professional medical treatment.

There are various approaches to treating this condition. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is usually effective, either on its own or combined with oral or topical treatments.
