Dermal Fillers - Lip Enhancement

Dermal fillers are injections used to treat wrinkles, furrows or hollows to give the face a fuller, more youthful appearance.

The dermal filler used by is mostly Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a natural substance found in the human skin - a jelly-like substance that fills the space between collagen and elastin fibres in the dermis. With aging, and exposure to sunlight or pollutants, the skin's natural store of Hyaluronic Acid is degraded and destroyed, causing a "shrinkage" of the facial tissues that results in furrows and lines, and lips which are less full and more wrinkled. Hyaluronic Acid is a temporary filler lasting between 6 and 12 months, depending on type used and individual characteristics. At we adhere to the principle that temporary dermal injectables are generally safer than permanent dermal fillers which, in some cases, may require surgical removal.

Facial features which can be improved by Hyaluronic Acid Injections are:

  • Deep smile lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial furrows)
  • Cheek depressions
  • Tear Troughs
  • Facial or Acne Scar Depressions
  • Frown lines that run between the eyebrows (glabellar lines)
  • Worry Lines (across the forehead)
  • Marionette Lines (drooping down from corners of the mouth to chin)
  • Smoker's Lines (around top lip mostly but may include lower lip) and
  • Lip Enhancement to redefine lip borders and restore volume to lips creating a more youthful appearance
